Indykote Workshop process
and equipment

 

IndyKote's Water / Sand Blast Unit

 



Step 1

Customer parts arrive and are first sandblasted in a Vaque High Pressure Water / Sand Blast unit. 80 grit Aluminium Oxide is used.

Step 2

After initial blasting, the part is then placed in the industrial oven at 800 Deg.C to burn out any impurities.

IndyKote's Dry Vacuum Blaster

 



Step 3

After baking the part goes for final blasting using a dry vacuum blaster using 100 Grit Aluminium Oxide.

All employees using cotton gloves to prevent comtamination of the surface of the part. Part is then inspected for suitability for the painting process.

Step 4

Part is then cleaned with a spirit solution and then given a base coat of ceramic paint in Indykote's filtered spray booth. Part is allowed to air dry and then it receives a top coat of ceramic paint. Part is air dried and again inspected prior to final curing in the oven.

Step 5

If the part being treated is ceramic chrome coated, after baking in the oven, it then goes into our vibratory polishing machine where the ceramic chrome is polished to a high show quality lutre for those who want the best finish possible.

Packaging

 



Step 6

After final hand polishing, part is quality inspected and packaged in plastic bubble wrap ready for dispatch.

  IndyKote's compressor

 




Indykote's compressor is a Hitachi 3 phase, 15KW silent compressor with a capacity of 75 CFM.
 

IndyKote's Air Receiver Tank

 




Indykote uses a large air receiver to ensure a clean, constant and reliable flow of air pressure for both the blasting and painting processes.

IndyKote's Refridgerated Air Dryer

 




Indykote
uses a Ingersoll Rand Refrigerated Air Filter / Dryer to ensure that the compressed air used in the final blasting and painting process is absolute free of moisture and dust to prevent contamination of the part being treated.
 

 


 
 
 

IndyKote Indykrom products are warranted against cracking, chipping and flaking for 1 year
or 3,000 hours whichever occurs first.
